Harness advise 4 Months, 1 Week ago

What type of 5pt harness works for the 944, I don't mean which brand but what length, bolt mount or rollcage mount?
thanks.
I duplicated on the NASA forum, so no need to answer both.

Hi Gary,
Harnesses only comes in one size from manufacturers. You adjust the length.
The two shoulder harness mounts to the roll cage horizontal bar.
The two lap harness mounts to the existing seat belt holes using the existing bolts.
The sub belt you'll need to drill a hole thru the floorpan and mount with the provided hardware and bolt/washers.

All the one's I've looked at have specific lengths.
Crow's harnesses have a 50" & 55", Impact has a 55" & 60", Simpson has 48",55" & 62", M&R is 48", G-force is 50"
I assume these measurements are the shoulder. I'll give the mfr's a call tommorrow before I buy.

I would guess shorter length if your seat will be in a fixed location, longer if you will have it on a slider. I'm assuming a custom roll cage with a close shoulder bar.

I called today, the long straps are more for cageless street cars doing floor mounts, some even have the shoulder straps going all the way to the back seat's belt mounts.
Learn something new everyday I guess.
Thanks.
edit: another quick question...
from the CCR section 15.5
10. All belts should meet at least one of the following:
A) SFI Specification 16.1 or 16.5 (for use with HANS only) and shall bear a dated label of no more than two (2) years old. At least one date label is required on belt sets.
Do I read that right? An SFI 16.1 can be used with any head restraint, SFI 16.5 I'm limited to only HANS?
