Jim “King of the Road” Foxx returned to PIR with new found speed and confidence following a successful open road racing event in Nevada where he hit 202 mph in his Ford GT. Would this give him an edge at tight twist PIR or would be just another win for the Arizona front runners?

With the threat of rain in the forecast for Saturday, Greg, Steve and Sidney headed out to Thunderhill to battle it out to see who will secure the 2nd, 3rd and 4th place overall finish in the NorCal Porsche 944 Spec Series. Greg needs 3 more races, Steve needs 4 and Sidney needs 2 more races to finish all 12 required races. Since Greg has a 100 point lead over Sidney with one less race, he just has to complete 3 more races regardless of finish position to secure the 2nd place finish for the season. The battle is between Steven and Sidney for the 3rd place spot. With Sidney at 845 points from 10 races and Steven at 670 points from 8 races, the results from this weekend is very critical to determine what needs to be done for the last race at Infineon on 11/8-9. |

It is exciting to see SP1 cars in the Utah region. I have been trying to get local track enthusiasts to join the class of the past year and half. The class is poised to take off over the next year or so. Especially with NASA Nationals at Miller next year. We now have five 944 racers with at least one race license in Utah and we have a 6th car for sale local which only needs a cage. |

September is an odd time in Arizona. Summer is still here, but for some reason once it gets into this month is it OK to go racing again even if temps are over 100F. Maybe it is just because it 75F in morning when we get to the track, or just that we are all sick of not racing over the hot part of the summer. Either way September is back to racing.
