The first 3 races of the season saw Austin Newmark take 3 straight wins.  It took Rich Geisler the 2009 Regional Champion all the way to the 4th race of the season to take his first win of at Firebird Main in February.  March and April saw the 944 spec crew back at PIR and then at Firebird Main for 4 more races bring the season to the halfway point.  Can Geisler gain momentum on that Febuary win or will 2010 be struggle for 2009 Champion? Or can Paluch beat them all with consistancy?

The  "Tornado"   season has started early this year in Colorado.   Shane "The Tornado" Ballard opened the 2010 season swinging for the fence and he was rewarded with not one but TWO 944-spec wins in the season opener at Pikes Peak International raceway.  

The March race weekend of the 20th-21st was also the beginning of spring and with it came sunshine, hillsides turning green and more racers coming out of their winter break.   NorCal welcomes their newest member Steve Lewis, a relocated 944 racer from back East and visiting Sean Thul from the Rocky Mountain region.

Season Opener for NorCal fell on a weekend with changing weather.

Just five from the NorCal group was going to brave the rain but Greg and Ivan both had other commitments and couldn't make it out so it was up to the three of us (Jerry Whitteridge, Sid Lee and Steve Huey) to break in the new Season.

NorCal held their awards luncheon on Sat. Feb 6th 2010 to honor their 2009 season champions.

Congratulations to Richard Lofgren for his 1st place win.  Ronald Dale for 2nd and Sidney Lee for 3rd in the 2009 NorCal 944-Spec season championships.
