Page 1 of 4 Yes, the Rocky Mountain region 944-SPEC drivers were able to reclaim their home track record from Norman Hamden with #76 Dave Dirks (2007 NASARM regional champion) turning a 1:48.776. and YES The 2006 Regional Champion Chuck Taylor was able to sweep the weekend with two! First place finishes! but the real story for the Rocky Mountain Regions season opener had to be 10 new 944-SPEC drivers in comp school. Michelle Dirks wasn't just driving around in comp school She was there to RACE!
What an incredible start to the 2008 Season for the Rocky Mountain region. 16 944-SPEC cars showed up to race at Pueblo Motorsports Park on March 15th and 16th. Like all of the Rocky Mountain Regions race weekends it started with a build party the weekend before the race. So on Saturday the 8th we all met at my house in Denver to finish up a few items on the cars and tell lots of stories about how we will win this year! Weston was there to show us where to put stickers on our cars. Westons car made it through the entire last year without even a scratch . Would it be so lucky this year ..... Weston's perfect car Not a scratch on it ... Like most of our build parties most of the time was talking and drinking. A bit more party and a little less "build". Standing around 3 cars in garage 1 behind the camera The Saturday before every race weekend is a build party at Chuck's house!
