Page 2 of 4 Rick took pole follow by Greg, Sid, Steve, Ron, Jerry. I was out so I had to watch the race as a spectator and took pictures.
Rick took the lead coming out of Turn 14 and trying to work his way thru a pack of miatas
Greg was hard on the chase follow by Sid, Steve and the rest of the pack going into Turn 13

I noticed a gradual drop in Greg's pace thru the race. Rick was pulling away. Unknown to us at the time Greg's car was beginning to overheat and he was short shifting to cool the car down. In a spec class sprint race you cannot back off because now Sid is breathing down Greg's neck. Here's Sid account of his battle with Greg: I think I caught up to Greg on lap 8 and knew I had a chance to pass him so when I saw the white flag which indicated one more lap, I tried to pass him down the front straights into Turn 15 on the inside but felt that I wouldn't be able to slow down enough to make that turn without going wide into him so I backed off and he was able to hold the outside line and pass me into 14. I followed him down the back straights and when we came out of Turn 10 going up hill, I knew that was my best chance to pass and took the outside line again and this time I edged him out of Turn 9 and had a small lead going into turn 5. I had so much pressure that I downshifted into 2nd gear and blew the turn and ended up going two wheels off track and fought a little before I recovered. I didn't know until after the race that Greg also followed my messed up line and went four wheels off and was thinking about passing me but since he saw me out of control, he decided to not make that pass. I got back on track and took the inside line of 2 which I saw Greg going to my outside trying to make the last pass but I had the better line and ended up crossing the finish line just a split second ahead of him.
Rick took a commanding 1st place finish with Sid 2nd, Greg 3rd follow by Steve, Jerry and Ron.
For Saturday's award ceremonies we wanted to pose with a great gal working with the emergency crew and want to thank the entire emergency team for their hard work and dedication.
Greg's radiator had a leak somewhere by the plastic edges. I didn't have a spare front koni strut to repair my car but I did have a spare radiator in a box. Jerry and Steve helped Greg change out the radiator. Rick, David and I was helping to adjust the suspension on Ron's car. That's what this 944-SPEC group is all about, helping each other out.
