Summary

Rounds 1 & 2 of NorCal 944-SPEC's 2008 CASH race series was held at Infineon raceway on June 28th and 29th.  The race weekend feature some real hard fought battles, a five position loss by one of the lead cars in the last lap, a terrible crash and the combined sigh of relief the driver was O.K.

Saturday practice was a short 10 minutes including the yellow flag out lap which is barely enough time to get your tires warm.  Qualifying wasn't much better as a Porsche 911 blew a engine and oiled the track from the braking zone of Turn 7 to Turn 8b.  Jim #12 went sideways upon hitting the oil in Turn 7 and almost hit a wall.  A black flag all was issued and we all pulled in.  We only had two registered laps for qualifying and had to base the grid on those lap times.   Our combined practice and qualify was only five to six laps.

Sitting on pole for Saturday's race was Greg #43 folowed by Sid #38,  Rick #30, Jim #12, Steve #95,Jerry #552, Aubie #27 and Ken #89.
