PCA and NASA SPEC Racers Unite! At the recent Nord Stern PCA event at Road America, midwest SPEC cars car together for a preview of things to come. A great time was had by all at one of America's premier road racing courses.
Jim Bryant of Apex SPG led a contingent of PCA SPEC cars in progress down from Minnesota, and Eric Kuhns of NASA Midwest represented the newly formed NASA 944 Challenge. Befitting it's popularity as an entry level racing series, nearly all the drivers are in the process of making the leap to wheels to wheel racing, with cars in various stages of development. All were track-ready, and all completed the DE weekend without serious mishap. Along the way Mark Repco set a blazing 2:48 time in his SPEC/SP1 car. All in all 6 SPEC/SP1 cars were in one place for this event. With word spreading fast, and another car being built by VFC Engineering for Ray Freundt right now, 944 SPEC is on a role in the Midwest!
