Page 9 of 9 Conclusion: Our stated goals for the 25 Hours was Finish, Fun, Experience and our goals were achieved. At times during the freezing cold and with the lack of sleep it felt more like Finish, Experience and then Fun. We did much better that expected with a entire team that never participated in the 25 Hours before and we had to be one of the lowest budget teams out there. We had a very reliable car that just kept running and completed 556 laps, that's 1668 miles in race conditions without a mechanical issue, without burning any oil and just requiring one set of tire change and one set of front brake pads!
I just can't say enough good things about this team and the great job they did. My thanks to the driving team for keeping the car on the track and staying out of trouble while turning consistent laps, Steve and Greg whom I normally race with and the addition of two very experience drivers who joined our team. Rick Lofgren who came to us via the PCA and SCCA racing a 944 and Todd Grantham who races in the PRC 911SC Toyo Cup series. Rick will be joining us next season racing 944-Spec. The pit crew of John Brandeau, Erich Brandeau, Jerry Whitteridge, Tom Grantham, Dan Lofgren, Joe Eschbach, David Saliba and our chief mechanics Art Butradee and Victor Esperanza. Thank-you so much for your excellent work and for handling the logistics and race strategy.
Special thanks also to: AutoPoint Motors for building such a reliable car, Bill Dockery for all his help, Greg Fordahl for his recommendations, fellow PCA-GGR member David Leong for permission to use some of his great pictures and Custom Crankshaft Repairs. What a great way to conclude our 2007 season. I guess the only exclaimation point we could have made after the 25 Hours race was to put Thunderbolt's license plates back on and drove him home.
