As much as I disagree with altering rules I have to agree with Doc.

I have been considering running the 25 hrs at Thunderhill in my Spec car and knew that the filler neck would cause an issue with speed filling the car.

Seems like a non issue at this time.

Any thoughts?

If all we did was just this mod for our 2007 25 Hours of Thunderhill race and nothing else we would have finished 4th in E2 class. The top three cars for that race in E2 were SCCA ITA miatas. We beat all the spec miatas but these ITA miatas were faster than the power/weight of our 944-Spec cars.
We'll be back next year for the 2010 25 Hours of Thunderhill with a purpose built 944 E2 car that will answer those ITA miatas.

Another vote for the Filler neck mod

(And I know we are not voting - but still !)

Ken, I am sorry but this is a family forum and your picture was shocking to me.

I know the Supreme Court has trouble defining obsenity but I know it when I see it.

Ok...with the potential of inciting the wrath of the big dog...I have a question...since the shift linkages are frankly crappy at best and one slot away from the money shift..why are shift kits illegal? They don't offer a performance advantage but sure do help the precision of finding the right gear. In my mind it's a longevity issue...the rules state improving the linkage is ok but short shifts are not...could somebody tell me what magic they have worked on the rube Goldberg assembly to make it "better"? or why the ban? The only advantage I could see is winning over somebody else cause they stuck it in third instead of fifth...
