You call out cost. I can buy good cookies all day long for half the cost of the proposed wheel.

You still haven't revealed your source of all day long wheel supply. Saying you can do it doesn't put wheels into racer's garages around the country. I searched for hours on end trying to find the easy supply source I could point to saying cookie cutters are still easy to find and cheap and found nothing. Somebody else had to point out the single source junkyard inventory website so either your a master scrounger or grandstanding. In any case, we have the solution now with the car-part.com website. All other benefits to an aftermarket wheel go away once the primary argument is nullified: lack of supply at a reasonable cost available to ALL REGIONS OF OUR CLASS. I just hope all junkyards listed on that website don't charge $150 per pallet of 4 wheels to ship like the one vendor I called.

Crooks, you are either not reading the forums or are choosing to ignore what the opponents of the wheel proposal are saying.

Please read again and you will see why we are choosing to be against the proposal.

Wheels are available and cheap. No need at this time.

It is not our decision anyways.

My but we are an active bunch, that’s a good thing.
So apparently the reason for your objection is, we don’t want to be forced to weigh and check wheels. That is a valid argument. The argument that we don’t need them or that you like what we have is not. We don’t need a lot of things that are legal we don’t need and some of us may not like $2000 paint jobs, removable steering wheels, sunroof replacements, high end dashboards, expensive belting or seats. Actually we don’t need anything other than stock suspension components but we have a rule that allows specific parts. That is what is in the proposal.
I knew Jim Jones he was a … no no no that’s not who I drank Kool Aid with, never mind.

I don't think we need $2000 LSDs

By using your same logic all of the reasons to have new wheels have been negated.

They are available.
They are not failing.
They are not a safety issue.
They are very durable.

There is no reason to add a new rule to allow them.

If drivers are not coming to this class because of wheels then there is another problem.

A constantly changing rule set is not good for the class. Prospective 944spec drivers will want to see rules stability so they dont have to constantly upgrade their car before ever racing with us.

Just wait until you get one, the car starts working like it should in left hand turns. You're gonna love it!
