Now that my motor is out of the car and I'm investing some cash in it, I think I should keep better track of what is going on under the hood. I think I need at least a water temp gauge and oil pressure gauge. An oil temp gauge is not a bad idea either. My question is whether I should put new sending units in while the engine is out, and what brand is the best? Do most gauges come with the sending units that will work on my car, or do I need something specific?

I put in an Autometer temp gauge in my 84 na. I put it where the clock normally sits. The sending unit if I remember right does not need an adapter. I bought it from Vic Hubbard racing. works fine.

Hi Ron,

We use the VDO meters on the #95 Thunderbolt car, Steve and Greg's car.
We have oil temp., oil pressure and water temp.
Don't know which brand is the best or if the gauges came with the sending units.
We took a more high level approach and just ask Art to install it. He fab. the face plate and mounting.
