Food for thought. Would this be treated as nationally or regionally - let's say some regions may have most of its racers stocked up ahead of time and also plenty of used long life tires. The result is they never needed to run a non Toyo or even different size, yet other regions did need to use this rule. Would this region still be out of any contingencies?

Rules are a national issue, so unfortunately, it's all or nothing. We can't exempt certain regions and still have a national class. It would be hard for any region to completely make it thru the year on RA-1's in any case.

So are you saying that Toyo Bucks are no more as of now?

Or is there a date when this will take place?

At this point, nothing is in stone yet and I asked Eric to get some thoughts from you all that we can use to guide our decisions. I think all involved want to make sure to take care of the racers as best as we can but the plans are not finalized yet as to how to handle contingencies and all the other moving pieces. We don't want to have anyone not able to race because there are no tires available in the specified size and brand but we also want to make sure we take care of folks who do have tires now and want to take advantage of the generous contingency that Toyo has provided for us. Our goal is to have some resolution early next week so hang in there and please do offer up your thoughts as they are helpful to us.

At this point, I have a headache and plan to have a stiff drink.

I do not have enough knowledge to comment on this except to say that 16 inch wheels are a bad idea, in my opinion. The cost to get enough wheels would be very high.
