TOPIC: Challenge for the RM region!

Re: Challenge for the RM region! 12 years, 1 month ago #13301

Sorry been away racing this weekend - I haven't even had a chance to sit down and look at the Dirk's video yet. The late DME rev limit is 6640 - just enough to get the cars to 60 in second gear in stock form - which made for better number to put in ads! This translates to 109 MPH in 4th gear, which is where I hit the rev limiter. Early cars were 6480, so about a 160RPM difference between the two.

It was a great track, and event. We should compile some pictures and stories to get this put into NASA's Speed News Magazine!

Talk about reving high! Dirks video shows at or very close to 7,000rpm at 15:20 and 21:02 in his video.
Early DME rev limiter is at 6400 + 200 rpm more for the 88 DME? HUH?! Optical illusion?

Haha, no optical illusion. My tach has always read erroneously high. My shift light on the left is set to 6400 rpm.

... and mine reads low. These stock tachometers are off. 6000 indicated is my rev limit on the stock gauge. Dyno says its about 6500 (6480)... which is right for an early DME.
