Weston OFFLINE Seasoned Racer Destroyer of Chris Posts: 277	Can anyone guide me on what a fair price is for a 944 or 924S transmission with a short 5th gear? I'd like to know what a good price is, so that I can jump on it if I happen to come across one... I'm guessing that the $500 that a local junkyard wants for a 924S tranny is too much...

I think $500 is pretty good. Used gears can run $300. So a complete unit for $500 is not bad. LSD short 5th would be like $1000 at least.

I sold a good working long 5th box for $300.
