Trying not to reinvent the wheel...does anyone have a way to install windows for transit to and from an event.

I removed mine for both weight and safety, as a hit on the door could send glass flying, but need to reinstall for transit...

Was considering an aluminum cradle or possibly drilling thru the glass (if possible) and inserting two or three brackets to hold the window in place...

Suggestions???

If you look at the picture below you can see the doors are completely gutted on my car because I have nascar bars. When the windows are installed in the up position, there is a bolt the fastens through a hole right next to the door handle through the slider on the base of the window where the window crank mechanism used to affix to. Windows are either completely in or completely out. I have thought about going to a sheet metal or plexiglass insert just to cut down on weight and I dont have to worry about shattering a random window while they are out of the car.

ive built two of these now and both have the same thing. Slide the stock window up into the door and then i took a long bungee strap-nylon kind- and attached one end to the door- then i stretch it under the bottom of the window around the guides and hook it with the remaining hook end to the door frame.
