OK so a single plate from the top of the 'A' pillar to the bottom of the same 'A' pillar is one point even though it is say 30"s long. Then the other point would be the length of the 'B' pillar as well.

Yes, that is what we had in mind. Just keep it on one straight piece of tubing.

Well in my scenario I am talking a long piece of sheet metal with dimpled holes bridging the gap between the roll cage and the 'A' pillar starting at the top of the windshield area down to the dash. The plate will be between 1" and 2" wide to fill the gap.
