There is no BBQ grill, but there is a press. I'm wondering..... will that make removing the old spring plate and torsion bushings easier, or should I still resort to the fire method ?? Thanks in advance

you can try it but the fire method was silly easy. Throw the parts on, walk away, come back, done.

I soaked mine gasoline for a couple days.

The one issue with fire is changing the metal due to the heat of the fire. Warping is possibliliy if you heat too muc for too long.
