TOPIC: slotting seat for submarine belt

slotting seat for submarine belt 15 years, 8 months ago #4210

Would this seat be legal for 944 spec?

And, I know alot of lotus elise guys slot their seats for submarine belts and pass tech, would I be able to do that to this seat and still be legal?

That seat is a tube frame seat and won't be able to take a seat back brace. In that price range you would be better off with something like this

but I'd recommend upgrading somewhat to:

The Intermediate Road Race Seat was what I was considering before I saw this on sale. Probably better off with it.

It's what I run and have been very happy with them.

I missed that the OMP had a FIA certification (But it only has 4 slots so wouldn't be the right FIA for road racing I suspect.) That would mean you didn't need a seat back brace until the FIA cert ran out.

I'd still not get and modify a seat -- use one that was built for the purpose.

I am not fan of aluminum seats, However I like tube frame even less.

So get an aluminum instead of tube frame if price is an issue.

BTW... I got usd Kirkey intermediate for $50. I have it as my passenger's seat.
