With a mocal oil cooler install do you need to put in a thermostat for it?

I didn't.

How are you getting the oil to the cooler? Most sandwich plates have a built-in thermostat, and the turbo oil filter mount does, as well. Most setups I've seen use a thermostat to not cool the oil until it needs it, to help it come up to operating temp as quickly as possible.

Please post photos if you can, I have been looking for input on this topic. Thanks, Rob

A non thermostat sandwich plate is cheaper and has one less thing to go wrong than a thermostat one.

So, if some are running without a thermostat, I am cool with doing that.

I have an unused thermostat sandwich plate just sitting in my garage taking up space, if you want that one but don’t want to spend the extra money for a brand new one (this one is essentially new and unused…I did not use it because I decided to go with the turbo oil filter mount after I bought the sandwich plate, but before I put it on.)
