Unless your car is overweight the undercoating is in the right spot.

Maybe consider only taking off the stuff on the drivers side.

I see that you have already done the removal but wanted to post this for anyone else that may be considering this.

I don't know if you saw the picture in the other thread but mine is a 3 Qt sump and fits under the panel above the radiator. It has a gauge on one end and a 90 degree fitting on the other end. My valve is in the line from the Accusump rather than directly on the sump.

I don't use the two screws that attach the front panel to the fenders, only the 4 or 5 screws along the top of the radiator. The panel fits into the body work on the bottom so it doesn't go anywhere. It takes about 10 seconds to remove the screws to access the Accusump if needed.

The early chassis and 924S have the header panel welded on with spot welds.

The later cars used the screw on method as the turbo cars put the intercooler in that spot.

Went to the race at Cresson Saturday with my father in law. It was great meeting everyone and getting a chance to check out the cars. This was his first taste of road racing and he is hooked!
Made me want to get the car finished.

Decided to mount the accusump up front.  Fabbed up some brackets in front of the upper radiator mount.

Then did a mock install of the tank to check for fit.

Also went ahead and made some pedal extension blocks out of some birch ply.

Spent a couple of hours tonight after work grabbing some supplies and fabbing up a frame and creating a lower valance screen to keep the boogers and rocks out of the radiator and ducts.

Also picked up the paint for the car...deep international blue and allis-chalmers orange for the exterior. White for the cockpit and engine bay.
