Ok that is what mine looked like. So if we required the 2-1 pipe to remain unaltered until after the o2 sensor bung then that would solve the potential issue.
My guess is that most did not cut it shorter than that.
Let me know what you think.

Well seems like ok idea, but we should take survey to understand where people have cut the cat out. Who still has their O2 sensor bung? If we all do then that makes it easy. If not...

Rules change period for 2012 will open up after nationals. This gives us time to address any issues that might come up there. So probably next month some time.

I can take photos of an unmolested one tonight that I have stashed for parts.

I have never used the O2 sensor, from the time the first car was constructed. On all of my collectors, the tail pipe was cut off at the weld (shown on the drawing) just in front of the O2 sensor to remove the holes. A tail pipe was attached there.

The weld is where the two collectors join and is where the single tail pipe is attached to the collector "join point". Any rule that required everything in front of the O2 sensor to be stock would mean all of my collectors are "trash" as they have all had the tail pipe, from the weld on back, removed.

Unless there is some proof that this is an issue, NO NEW RULES!

Foxx this rule is specifically for you

You know me I dont want new rules. But I think this is one area that needs clarification.

I have no issue with making it stock from the collector forward. That is the real issue anyways.

Changing the tube length from header to collector will alter the HP and TQ curve. i just dont know what effect that will have.

Did you finish my car for Sears Pt. yet?
