Found this pic online of a good seat mounting example on Pelican. Scroll down a few pics and check it out. Nicely done.

I am not saying we should pass a rule about seat mounting just passing on info of a good way to do a safe seat install.

Wow, what a tragedy!

That is a really nice cage that someone left out to rust.

The seat mounting is exactly what we had in mind when we passed the the rule allowing more cage attachments specifically to allow this. The best example I've seen (outside of the rust!).

Nice find, Charlie, thanks.

Yea bummer about the chassis and cage.
It is also a nice cage design that could be copied. Only issue I see is some additional mounting points in the rear section.

There is a piece of tube that goes down from the lowest door bar. Does that one go down to the jack point to reinforce it? If so, that is a nice add.

The only part of the seat mount that concerns me is the square tube instead of round. Square can kink easier than round and it looks like it could have been done with smaller diameter round.

A very well thought out cage and the door area looks to be VERY strong.

I saw the bar for the jack mount but did not understand what it was for. It all makes sense now.
It does add another point of mounting that may not be legal. Need to check on that.
The square tubing is a non issue IMO because you have so much protection on that side. But it certainly could be made from round tubing.

As the rules stand now, the roll cage jack mount tie in is not legal. The extra mounting points are allowed only for the express purpose of mounting the seat.

I didn't notice that mount before, either. Someone put a lot of effort into that cage!
