TOPIC: 205/50-15 RA1?

With the SCCA announcement that the 205/50-15 RA1 is the official tire for Spec Miata in 2010 AND Toyo going back into FULL production on that size ONLY, why don't we make the switch to that size and then we will have our 20+ heat cycles back. Just a thought.

Furthermore, the 205/50-15 dimensionally is the same size as the 225/45-15 so it won't mess with our gearing. (I ran that size in 944Cup)

Something to consider, but before we commit lets see what the pricing is and how the R888 do over the summer.

i think it's also been said repeatedly that the 205 is a better size for a 7 inch wide rim. I think it's a great idea to go with the ra-1 spec miata size, then we can back to racing instead of testing and guessing.

Another aspect that makes this idea attractive is the availability of used tires from the well heeled and/or wasteful Miata crowd. I would gladly sacrifice a little contact patch area for substantial savings. CHEAP equal racing ! Love it !!
