Are you kidding, I had to buy a new car just to take full advantage of all the new rules.

I calculated out that the lexan was worth .05 seconds per lap. Now all I have to do is never make mistakes, always be in the right place at the right time and have the perfect car and I might win a race or two in 2010.

Well, Mr. Champion, if you bought a new car, did you paint it the same "interesting" paint scheme. If you upgraded it's look, you need to change your picture, my friend.

My new number is 449 as in 944 backwards. I hope to keep the current number as it was JT's. I will run it as a tribute to JT and hopefully keep the car at the front like he did.

The 1/4" Lexan was 4 lbs lighter than the glass once it was cut to fit the car.

Here's the final product:


The A-pillar area is the only spot that needs to be pulled down a bit - it's easily flexible enough to do this:



It takes a bit of cutting, and fussing to make it fit well, but it's definitely cheap, and the tear-offs are a bonus!

Sounds great. I will take two of them but please make sure they fit my 88. I want at least 3 tear-offs on mine as well. Just let me know when you will be shipping them.

The windshield looks great. How exactly did you mount it (adhesive, tabs, etc) and could you give us a few closeup pics?
Also, how are you going to do the center support that the CCR's require? Thanks again for sharing this with us!
