I almost forgot, If anyone wants/likes the Lady Porsche decal, Adam has them for $10 for the set (2) and that includes shipping to your door. I dom't mind if anybody uses them on their car. You can contact Adam @ This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
Tell him you want the Lady Porsche decals.

I decided not to install the passenger side seat, harnes and seat back brace. It will have to wait. We loaded it up and hauled it to Bennington's to get the final balance and any balast added. The only addition will be a cool suit later in the season. When I walked into the shop, I saw stacks of tires! What tire shortage? Better pay your tire bill guys or I've got me a nice set of cookie cutters with some shaved RA-1's.

Wow, is that guy running Pike's Peak?

The yellow car is Ray's old car. He did most of that running into hay bales at Putnam. Hopefully he keeps out of them in a few weeks when we go there next!

He's not only running Pikes Peak, he's flying there too!!!
We could add that kind of wing to our cars!! See who can get the biggest wing in 944-spec!!
I know some mechanics that work at O'hare, might be able to get a few 727 tail wings.

The finial car weight with very little fuel (1-2 gallons), is 2571. So I need to add ballast. I was going to add plate steel but decided to go with lead as I have some lying around. If your friends with a tire guy, you can get the used wheel weights to melt down. I got some scrap wood to make a form.

Got an old pot. If you do this at your house kiddies, do not re-use the pot for food!!

PIC_0626.JPG

Set up my colman stove. Lead melts at about F-630* so it doesn't take a lot of heat.

I could only handle about 8 lbs per pour so the pot you use doesn't have to be big. It only took about 7 minutes to melt each batch.

A 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" x 12" piece of lead weighs 40 lbs. We need two 40 lbs chunks. Bryce is 40 lbs lighter than me so when he drives both pieces will be installed. When they cool off, I'll get them installed.
