I've gotten in and out of the car numerous times now and always find myself grabbing the opening of the sun roof but that will be sealed. My roll cage is to tight to the body to get a gloved hand in. I called the local bone yard and had the wife pick this up.
I marked, drilled and attached it where my hand fell each time when climbing in and out of the car.
It's retractable, so it springs up out of the way when not needed. I knew I'd get a GM part in here sooner or later!!
It's off a 99 Buick Century but I'll bet one can be had out of some other GM or Ford.
I also decided to address the shifter handle. After I removed the knob I tore all the sponge foam from the shifter housing. What a mess. The stock knob weight is 12.2 oz.
The new shifter knob I bougt in a 2 pack. I decided to use this one. It's weight is 6.4 oz.
I'll sell the other one if anybody wants it, just shoot me a PM. $15 shipped. Here is a pic of the other one.
After I got this all together I noticed the shifter was sloppy, so back off it came. This is what I found.
The shifter handle part should be fairly easy to get but what about linkage rod? It's way out of round. Any idea on where to pick these up at or should I just try to repair them? What about the other end hooked to the trans-axle, will it be like this too?
